/Travel English - Starting a conversation
One of the best ways to enhance our travelling is to communicate with other people, locals or other travellers.
The best time to talk to someone is when they are not moving, for example when you are standing in line, or when you are sitting down on a bench or a nearby table. It’s best not to stop someone when they are walking on the road.
Here are some generic phrases we can use to start a conversation:
The weather is so nice today.
Are you from around here?
There sure are many people here today!
Are you here on business or on vacation?
Are these your kids? They are so cute!
What kind of dog is that? ← Only if they are holding a dog
